Gene Burnet
Gene has over 15 years of experience with the sales of
heavy trucks, trailers and equipment. He was involved
with truck and equipment advertising before going to
work for LJL Truck Centers in Georgia with 12 locations.
First as a top salesman and then as a New Truck Manager;
he was responsible for new truck inventories at all 12
locations. In 2001, Gene moved back to his home state of
Michigan to open, from the ground up, a SelecTrucks
Dealership for Freightliner. As the center manager, Gene
was responsible for all aspects of the business. The
dealership was one of the most successful SelecTruck
stores at that time. .
Gene has been a commissioned salesman, a business
manager, and business owner since 1981. He’s worked for
large and small companies, mostly in the truck and
equipment industries. That experience, coupled with the
fact that he has been a business owner in the past, has
certainly added to the success and growth of Big Truck
Sales, LLC. But the most important aspect of Gene’s
career is the relationship he’s built with vendors,
fleets, and other dealerships in Grand Rapids, and
around the country. This networking allows Gene and Big
Truck Sales to satisfy every truck buyers needs, no
matter how big or small. Let them prove it.
Tim Roelofs
Tim has over 20 years in the industry. In 2001 Tim was
one of Gene’s first hires at SelecTrucks of Grand
Rapids. Tim worked in all aspects of the business, from
prep mechanic, driver, inventory assistant, and part of
the sales support staff. Tim was considered a “key”
employee. Leaving SelecTrucks of Grand Rapids, in 2006,
Tim reunited with Gene Burnet at Big Truck Sales. Here
Tim is involved with all aspects of the business, from
mechanic, inventory control, service advisory, to sales,
and International export. The most important aspect of
Tim’s career is the relationship he’s built with
vendors, customer’s and other dealerships in the US and
